Blaxland High School Dance has had a very busy but successful start to term 3. Last week all dance and Year 11 Entertainment students were involved in the bi-annual Dance Night which was held at the Q Theatre in Penrith. The students had a fantastic time and excelled in both the matinee and evening performances. On Sunday 1 August, 2010 the Dance Companies of Blaxland High School competed at the Sydney Eisteddfod McDonalds Performing Arts Challenge at the UNSW. The Senior Dance Company received 3rd place with their contemporary dance ‘Schindlers List’ choreographed by Chevonne Chivas and The Intermediate Dance Company received a Highly Commended with ‘Uninvited’ choreographed by Allie Gunton. The next day 27 students travelled into Circular Quay to be part of the Public Education Flash Mob to start Education Week in Sydney, this video can be viewed on YouTube. We look forward to what the rest of the term will bring and wish our Year 12 dancers the best of luck in their upcoming HSC Dance Exams.
